Anna Casperson Sowa Williams, 97, of Forward Township, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2022, at Grandview Estates in Elizabeth Township. She retired after 33 years as a clerk and typist for the West Jefferson Hills School District. She was a former member of Ella Hollow Bible Church and a former member of the Happy Go Lucky Square Dance Club. Born Dec. 24, 1924, in Clairton, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Mary Bailey Casperson and wife of the late Louis R. Williams. She is survived by a daughter, Janet (Tony) Homa of Elizabeth Township; special grandson, Anthony Homa Jr. of Elizabeth Township; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; along with nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by son, Jerome H. Sowa Jr.; sisters, Jean Efaw and Doris Caley; and brothers, Harry Jr. and Andrew Casperson. Friends will be received at PAUL E. BEKAVAC FUNERAL HOME, 221 N. Second Ave., Elizabeth, from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 10, 2022, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jude Urso officiating. Burial will follow in Richland Cemetery, Dravosburg. Memorial contributions may be made to Anova Home Health Care System, 17 McKean Ave., Charleroi, PA 15022.
