William D. ‘Bill’ Bloom – formerly of Curwensville, Pa.

William D. “Bill” Bloom, 60, of McKeesport, formerly of Curwensville, died Friday, Dec. 31, 2021, in Jefferson Hospital. Born July 16, 1961, in Clearfield, Pa., he was the son of the late Charles F. Sr. and Vivian G. Condon Bloom. Bill attended Curwensville Area schools and numerous diesel mechanic training schools. He worked as a mechanic by trade, specializing in heavy trucks and equipment, and was currently working for Hill International in Washington. Bill served six combined years with the Pennsylvania National Guard and Texas National Guard. He was a genius with tools and could fix or build anything. He loved his family, riding Harleys and woodworking. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. He touched the hearts of and will be missed by many. Surviving are his wife, Judie (Sala) Bloom, whom he married Sept. 17, 2005; a son, Michael (Christine) Sorrentino of Lowber; three daughters and a son-in-law, Kristina (Roy) Snyder of  Prattsburgh, N.Y., Michele Butler (Rod) of East McKeesport, and Renee Short and fiancé Brian of Irwin; two grandsons, Brian and Zachary Short of Irwin; a sister and brother-in-law, Mildred L. “Cis” (Alvin) Dixon of Corsicana, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Charles F. “Fred” and Tina Bloom Jr. of Curwensville; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were an infant sister; a brother, Gerald “Jerry” Bloom Sr.; his friend, Jim “Moof” Wiggins; and his former wife, Donna M. Anderson Bloom.
