John Traczynski Jr., 83, of McKeesport, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2021. Born in McKeesport on May 17, 1938, he was the son of the late John and Josephine Muha Traczynski Sr. John was a former truck driver and was a meat cutter and manager for several locations throughout the tri-state area. He was the owner of Traczynski’s Market in McKeesport and was the co-owner of the Benwood Lounge in McKeesport. He honorably served his country in Panama and New Jersey with the U.S. Navy. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Julia Frances Hickey Traczynski; children, Monica (Alan) Atkins of Houston, Texas, John (Tammy) Traczynski III of Monessen, William (Lisa) Traczynski of Hempfield, and Edward Traczynski of McKeesport; grandchildren, Gordon Anderson, Kaitlyn (Anu) Chahar, Sarah (Tim) Reynolds, Jacob John Traczynski, Laura Traczynski, Bailey Traczynski, Matthew Traczynski and Joshua (Haley) Traczynski; great-granddaughter, Everly Reynolds; sisters, Maxine Sherwood and Ruth Ann Stoffiere; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Edward, Harry and Edmund Traczynski; and sisters, Irene Charmo and Virginia Grese. At John’s request, there will be no public visitation, and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to JAMES C.
