Jean Arlene Stockton Balla, 83, of Monroeville passed away on Saturday, Dec. 25, 2021. Born on June 15, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Frank W. and Mary Alice Phillips Stockton and the wife of the late Alexander Joseph Balla Jr. Jean spent her working years as a teacher for the Gateway School District, was the director of The Garden City nursery school, a travel agent for Happy Landing travel, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Garden City Women’s Club, and the church choir at Monroeville United Methodist Church. She is survived by her sons, Bryan (Robin) Balla and Kevin (Kristine) Balla; and grandchildren, Zachary, Allison, Joshua, Andrew and Lauren. Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Christopher; and her siblings, Jack Stockton and Nelda Stockton.  Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021, at JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY INC. (Monroeville/Plum Chapel) 445 Beatty Road, Monroeville, 412-856-4747. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, 2021, at Monroeville United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Tunnel to Tower Foundation, 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY  10306 or at T2T.org.
