By obits

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Cometta “Connie” Vincenzes, 87, of Rostraver Township. Connie passed away Dec. 17, 2021, after her battle with cancer. Connie was born Aug. 26, 1934, to her mother Emma Bucci Mattozzi and father Raniero Mattozzi in Monessen. While serving in the Women’s Army Corp, she met the love of her life and married Philip James “Butch” Vincenzes. The couple had two sons, Philip and Mark, who currently reside in Northern Virginia. Connie and Butch lived and loved the “military life”. In their early years they had some great opportunities to travel around the world raising their family, and ultimately settled in Alexandria, Va. Connie was well known and appreciated, and had many friends and acquaintances. In 2003, after the passing of her husband, Butch in 1998, she moved back to Pennsylvania to be near her sister and brother and lived happily there. Connie was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and was known for her enormous generosity, sense of style, her signature smell (Clinique Aromatics), and her ability to instantly light up a room with her presence. Connie was genuine and offered her friendship to everyone she met. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her sister, Yolanda Kuklar; her sons, Philip and Mark; her seven grandchildren, Brent, Tony, Becky, Jennifer, Rachael, Isabella and Gabrielle; seven great-grandchildren; and two amazing daughters-in-law, Cecilia and Christine. Connie was preceded in death by her brothers, Raymond Mattozzi, William Mattozzi, Anthony Mattozzi; and sister, Elizabeth Mattozzi. A memorial Mass with the family is being held for Connie at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, 2021, at Saint Sebastian Catholic Church, located at 801 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, PA15012.
