Josephine G. Urbanovich Conte, age 94, of Elizabeth, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 18, 2021, at AHN Jefferson Hospital with her family at her side. She was a member of St. Joachim and Anne Parish, St. Michael Church in Elizabeth Township. She attended the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf and was a member of the school’s Seniors Club. She loved being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and enjoyed sewing, baking and keeping a clean home. Born Aug. 8, 1927, in Elizabeth Township, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Mary Maciakowska Urbanovich and wife of the late Anthony H. Conte Jr. She is survived by a daughter, Nora (Keith) Kelley; son, Anthony (Renee) Conte III; grandchildren, Natalie, Michele (Christopher) and Brian (Lauren); great-grandchildren, Haylee, Austin, Irelyn, Gwendolyn and Harrison; sister, Virginia Davis; as well as nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, Julia Guzanick, Stanley Urbanovich, Anna Hynok and Helen Liberto. Friends will be received at PAUL E. BEKAVAC FUNERAL HOME, 221 North Second Ave., Elizabeth, from 11 a.m. until the time of blessing at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2021, with the Rev. Thomas A. Wagner officiating. Burial will follow in Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth Township. Memorial contributions may be made to the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf, 300 East Swissvale Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15218.
