Karl J. Vitovic – Scio, Ohio, formerly of Monessen

Karl J. Vitovic, 80, of Scio, Ohio, formerly of Monessen, died unexpectedly on Thursday, Dec. 16, 2021, in Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital, Canton, Ohio. He was born on Feb. 9, 1941, in North Charleroi, the son of the late Andrew J. and Zora Gozdonovich Vitovic. Karl was a 1958 graduate of Monessen High School, served his country in the U.S. Army and then attended the University of Pittsburgh. Karl was a retired truck driver, having worked for several trucking firms. He was a member of American Legion Post 482 in Scio, Ohio, and Grace Lutheran Church in Dover, Ohio. Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Carol Hughes Vitovic; two sons, Karl “Chip” (Tina) Vitovic of Bethlehem, Ga., and Jonas (April) Hunter of Tucson, Ariz.; daughter, Linda (Robert) Vitovic Williams of Scio, Ohio; a brother, Andrew “Andy” Vitovic of Rostraver Township; and seven grandchildren, Alyssa, Alexis, Dylan, Amanda, Christopher, Erik and Alina. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Audrey Bleier Vitovic. Friends will be received at Dalfonso-Billick Funeral Home Inc. & Cremations Services, 441 Reed Ave., Monessen, from 9 to 11 a.m., the time of service, Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2021, with the Rev.
