Kent ‘Duke’ Miller North Belle Vernon

D. Kent “Duke” Miller, 82, of North Belle Vernon, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2021, at UPMC Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born May 12, 1939, in North Charleroi, he was the son of the late Thomas Howard and Mae Jeanne Morris Miller. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, Mr. Miller was Methodist by faith. Duke was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh, Allenport Plant, where he was a head roller. He was a member of the Naomi Athletic Club, where he was an honorary member, enjoyed golfing, crossword puzzles, going to casinos, was an avid Steelers fan and most of all enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by son, Ken Miller and Connie Strychalski of Belle Vernon; son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Joyce Miller of Rostraver Township; daughter, Kris Schmidt of North Belle Vernon; three grandchildren, Kenny Miller II, Nolan Miller, Cameron Miller, four great-grandchildren, Nolia, Gianna, Kayden and Livi; and two sisters-in-law, Jean Spisak and Stella Marie Kroskie. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Kroskie Miller; grandchildren, Ashley Schmidt and John T. Miller; daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Brian Bartosik; brother, Jack Miller; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank and Stella Kroskie. Private family visitation and funeral services took place Thursday at PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS LLC, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Interment took place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Dale Kent Miller to the American Cancer Society.
