George E. Gallick, 80, of , died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2021, in Mt. Macrina Manor, Uniontown. Born April 7, 1941, in Kelly Hollow, Forward Township, he was the son of the late John C. Sr. and Mary Stefko Gallick. George was a 1959 graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School and worked for many years as a mechanic at the former Mon-View Mining Co. until its closing. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Monongahela and the United Mine Workers Association. Surviving are his wife, Barbara Polonoli Gallick, whom he married Oct. 28, 1963; two daughters and sons-in-laws, Deborah (George) Zadnik of Forward Township and Lisa (Al) Sandham of Monongahela; six grandchildren, Toni Lynn (Bob) McCracken, Thomas Kadar (Alicia), Taylor Parnell, Brittany (Nate) Watson, DJ Parnell (Lauren) and Jennifer (Lawrence) Pye; six great-grandchildren, Jaxton Dezardo, Luke and McKenna Watson, Hunter and Waylon Powell and Amy Pye; a sister, Jeannie (Joe) Amatangelo of Elizabeth; a sister-in-law, Clair Gallick of Forward Township; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were two brothers, John C. Gallick Jr. and Paul Gallick; and two sisters, Irene Sukla and Joanne Amatangelo. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2021, at MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-258-6767, marshallmarrafuneralhome.com, where services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15, with Matthew Stabe officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either Grace Lutheran Church, 911 Howard St., Monongahela or the Alzheimer’s Association, alz.org.
