Emily Pottios Gazi – Charleroi, Formerly of Roscoe

Emily Pottios Gazi, of Charleroi and formerly of Roscoe, left this world on Dec. 12, 2021, at age 86. Her battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed her courage and faith in facing life challenges. She was preceded in death by her husband, James; parents, Peter and Anna Babirad Pottios; and siblings Harry, Rose, Pauline, Johnny, Frances and Ray. She is survived by daughter, Debi Gazi of Pittsburgh; son, Mark Gazi (Annamarie) of Elco; daughter, Leah Krnjaic of Lititz, Pa.; siblings, Michael Bitsko and Myron Pottios; grandchildren, Christy Mudry (Matt), Lindsay Lawson (Richard), Tom Mavrovic and Paige, Cassidy and Morgan Krnjaic; and great-grandchildren, Celeste Mudry and Ricky and Gabriela Lawson. Emily was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her family was everything to her and she loved spending time with them. Emily was an original member of the Elco Civic Center and volunteered as a cook at the Area Agency on Aging in Charleroi. She enjoyed her time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals for her family and friends. She was a devoted Christian who spent many hours volunteering with the church and taught at Bible school. Friends and family are invited to join the family in celebrating Emily’s life. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17, 2021, at MELENYZER FUNERAL HOME, Roscoe. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, at the funeral home with Pastor Kevin Roberts of Charleroi Baptist Church officiating.
