Timothy John Summers, 73, of Coal Center, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021. A son of the late Charles and Dorothy Martin Summers, he was born in North Charleroi on July 13, 1948. Formerly of Belle Vernon and Charleroi, Tim resided in Coal Center for the last 15 years. Catholic by faith, he was a member of Saint Katharine Drexel Parish in Bentleyville. He was a Bellmar graduate, and following graduation, he became an apprentice bricklayer, employed out of the union hall and later by Lilja Corp. The trade took him all over the world, from South America to Europe, Asia to the Middle East and North America, including Canada, to the Caribbean. Tim became a supervisor with Lilja Corp. and after 50 years in the trade, he retired in 2016. He also loved going to car shows, driving his 1966 GTO, and working on old cars, most recently on his 1951 Ford. Tim loved traveling, gardening, spending time with his family, seeing old friends and going to his class reunions. He was a U.S. Army Reserves veteran. Tim is survived by his wife, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage, Janice Angelocci Summers; a daughter, Lisa Rocca of Stockdale; a son and daughter in-law, Jason and Sandra Summers of Charleroi; a brother, Chuck Summers of New Mexico; three grandchildren, Zachary Summers, Nicholas Summers and Lily Rocca; and two step grandchildren, Sammy Rocca and Malayna Rocca. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-5300, www.FergusonFuneralHomeandCrematory.com. Vigil prayers will be held during visitation. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2021, at Saint Katharine Drexel Parish, 126 Church St., Bentleyville, with the Rev. Edward L. Yuhas as celebrant. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at the church. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
