Alice L. Read Selcan, 91, of Monessen, died Monday, Dec. 6, 2021, in McMurray Hills Manor. She was born on July 8, 1930, in Monessen, daughter of the late John “Jack” Read and Rose Scalise Read. Alice was a lifelong resident of Monessen and a graduate of Monessen High School and Pittsburgh Beauty Academy. She and her late husband, John Selcan, were part owners and operators of Rem’s Electric and Supplies Inc. in Monessen for many years. Alice was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church in Monessen and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, having been a season ticket holder since 1976. Surviving are her two sons, Frank R. (Lisa) Lombardo of Rostraver Township and Kevin P. Lombardo of Monessen; three grandchildren, Victoria “Tori” (Eric) Farmer of Greensburg, Jacquelyn Lombardo of Rostraver Township and Joshua Lombardo of Scott Township; five great-grandchildren, Francesca, Vienna, Jeremiah, Madix and Sebastian; a sister, Lois Smith of Jupiter, Fla.; along with nieces and nephews. Private family viewing followed by a blessing service was held in DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC. & CREMATION SERVICES, 441 Reed Ave., Monessen, with Father Michael J. Crookston officiating. Interment followed in Grandview Cemetery, Monessen. Condolences accepted for the family at www.dalfonso-billick.com.
