Kenneth Douglas Johnson Sr. – Green Hill, Pa.

Kenneth Douglas Johnson Sr., 91, of Green Hill, Pa., passed away on Nov. 28, 2021. He was born March 1, 1930, to the late Fred and Lucy Johnson Sr. “Pete,” as he was affectionately known, was raised in Pricedale, where his automobile mechanic skills became known around the Valley. He was employed with Hays Mill of Pittsburgh and later at Combustion Engineering in Forward Township until its closing. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Rosetta “Rose” Burgess-Johnson. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Frances C. Cook, Norma J. Jackson, Shirley A. Bizzelle, Gary Cook, Galeon Cook, Gaylord Cook, Lawrence M. Johnson and Fred P. Johnson Sr. He leaves to cherish his memory four children, Kenneth Douglas Johnson Jr. of Virginia Beach, Va., Cecilia Johnson-Isabell of Green Hill, Pa., Camille Johnson of Monessen and Teresa Johnson of Donora; sisters, Audrey M. Johnson of Belle Vernon and Gail Jeter of Manassas, Va.; brothers, Charles R. Cook Jr. of Monessen, Donald Cook of Pricedale and Ralph Cook of Belle Vernon; as well as grandchildren, great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Friends will be received from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021, at HOUSE OF JACKSON MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 546 Thompson Ave., Donora, Pa., Karl Jackson, funeral director, 724-379-5420. Services will be held at 11 a.m.
