Pastor Melvin Lee Hileman – Rostraver Township

Pastor Melvin Lee Hileman, 92, of Rostraver Township, passed away peacefully at 10:41 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021, in the home of his caregiver, Gary McDonald. Born in Charleroi on May 10, 1929, he was the son of the late James Percy and Aleda Alberts Hileman. Pastor Mel was in Christian ministry for over 60 years. In addition to the Mel Hileman Ministries, Mel was a guest speaker for the Christian Broadcasting Network in Clarksburg, W.Va., for two years and had his own radio program in Canonsburg for two years. He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Ocie Ann Noble Hileman; daughter, Sandra (Albert) Bashur of Rostraver; and brother, James (Rochelle) Hileman of Belle Vernon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Everly; and nephew, David Hileman. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Mel Hileman Ministries Church, 10 Upper Crest Ave., Charleroi, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Curtis Silcox officiating. Interment will follow in Fells Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to JAMES C.
