Frank ‘Tips’ Klawcho – North Belle Vernon
Frank “Tips” Klawcho, 98, of North Belle Vernon, passed away peacefully Friday, Dec. 3, 2021, at Country Care Manor, Washington Township. Born Aug. 23, 1923, in Pricedale, he was the son of the late Adam and Mary Paruban Klawcho. A lifelong resident of North Belle Vernon, Mr. Klawcho was Lutheran by faith. Frank was a graduate of North Belle Vernon High School Class of 1941. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the 118 2nd MP Co. in Europe. He was a retired deck hand for Hillman Barge Co. for many years. He was a dedicated vegetable gardener and sold to many restaurants in the Mon Valley area and followed all Pittsburgh Sports, especially his beloved Pittsburgh Pirates. He is survived by a nephew, Charles Jackowski of Belle Vernon; two nieces, Patricia Testy of Pricedale and Kathleen Allen of Dublin, Ohio; and numerous great nieces and great-nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Adam and John Klawcho; and five sisters, Sue Rutkowski, Marie Pisula, Mildred Jackowski, Irene Slavischalk and Bernice Burkett. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS LLC, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183, followed by funeral services at 6 p.m. with the Rev. Larry Coltra, Amedisys Hospice chaplain officiating. Private interment will take place Wednesday in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Members of the Belle Vernon American Legion will conduct services Tuesday at 5:45 p.m. in the funeral home. His friendly personality will be missed and never forgotten by all.
