Alfred P. Lenzi – New Eagle

By obits

It is with the heaviest of hearts that the family of Alfred P. Lenzi, 78, of New Eagle must tell all who loved him that our Lord welcomed him into Heaven on Nov. 12, 2021. He was born Aug. 1, 1943, a son of the late Louis and Julia Franceshi Lenzi. Al graduated from Monongahela High School and worked several jobs throughout his life, the last being a motor route driver for the Valley Independent. He enjoyed dancing and his relaxation was washing his cars and being with family. Al loved all aspects of life, especially spending time with his family and friends, watching and being a part of all the activities in which his children and grandchildren participated. His greatest love and passion were his love of family and love of God. He had a kind, compassionate heart of gold. He was known to his children as “Mr. Happy-Go-Lucky.” Left to cherish in his memory is his high school sweetheart and wife, Rita Williams Lenzi, with whom he celebrated 53 years of marriage on April 27, 2021. He was a proud, loving and devoted father of Alfred Lenzi II (wife Denise) of Monongahela and Lynn Smelser of Charleroi; grandfather of Adam Lenzi, Krisi (Justin) Secrist and Logan and Adriana Smelser; great-grandfather of Rhett and Ryatt Secrist; brother of Louis Lenzi of Monongahela and Charles (Joanne) Lenzi of Hollister, Calif.; his best friend since the age of 5, who became his brother-in-law, Steve Timko; several nieces and nephews; and his fur baby and sidekick, Chloe. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Leslie Ann; brother, Robert Lenzi; sister-in-law, Carol Lenzi; and son-in-law, Matthew Smelser. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2021 at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela, PA 15063, where a blessing service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, 2021, with Deacon Alexander Poroda officiating. Committal services and interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery. In ending we leave this thought, “Each of us must release the hand of the one we love, into the hand of the one we have not seen.” Expressions of sympathy may be offered to the family at www.fryefuneralhome.com.
