Frank J. Schollaert Jr., 86, Rostraver Township, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2021, surrounded by his family. Born Aug. 19, 1935, in Monessen, he was the son of Frank J. Sr. and Ruth Blevins Schollaert. A 1953 graduate of the former Belmar High School, Frank retired in 1985 from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel’s Allenport plant, where he worked as a production recorder in the hot mill. A member of First Baptist Church in Monongahela for the past 50 years, Frank was an avid Bible teacher and devoted follower of Jesus Christ. He always enjoyed working in his flower garden and when he was younger loved waterskiing with his family. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 59 years, Alta Comer Schollaert; a son, Mark and wife Paula of Monongahela; three grandchildren, Rachel and husband Ray Souza of Georgia, Missy and husband Todd Harris of West Mifflin and David and wife Natalie Schollaert of Monongahela; eight great-grandchildren, Matthew, Marcus and Lucas Souza, Caleb, Ellie and Lincoln Harris and Joel and Judah Schollaert; his two siblings, Peggy (Ed) Tomayko and Tom (Lonie) Schollaert; along with many loving nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were a brother, Jack; and sister-in-law, Karen Schollaert. Friends will be received from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29, 2021, at MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-258-6767. A celebration of life service will be held Monday, Nov. 29, 2021, beginning at 11 a.m. with Frank’s son, Mark, officiating at First Baptist Church, 601 Main St., Monongahela.
