Robert “Bob” Kosko, 75, of Monessen, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Nov. 21, 2021, in Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital. He was born on Sept. 13, 1946, in New Eagle, the son of the late George L. and Margaret Cowie Kosko. Bob grew up in Donora and was a 1964, graduate of Donora High School. He then served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Once discharged from the service, he attended St. Vincent College. Bob retired from the Social Security Administration, having worked as a social insurance expert. He also worked at H&R Block at its Belle Vernon, Charleroi and West Newton locations. Bob was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church and the Monessen Lions Club, having served as past president, and was awarded a Melvin Jones Fellow. He was also a past district governor for Lions District 14-E. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Stamatia “Tommie” Kosko; son, George (Monica) Kosko of Forward Township; daughter, Elizabeth (Jonathan) Cole of Indian Head, Pa.; two brothers, Joseph Kosko of Donora and Philip Kosko of Lugoff, S.C.; sister, Bonnie (Ben) Jones of Rostraver Township; six grandchildren, Cody, Belle, Ariauna, Madison, Bolden and Cooper; step-grandsons, Eric and Dylan; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his twin brother, George Kosko. Friends will be received at DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC. AND CREMATION SERVICES, 441 Reed Ave., Monessen, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Additional viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, with a noon funeral service at St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church, 119 St. Spyridon Lane, Monessen, with Father Meletios Gianniodis officiating. Interment will be in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Spyridon Church, 119 St. Spyridon Lane, Monessen, PA 15062.
