Anna Comadena – Fayette City
Anna Comadena, 86, of Fayette City, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021, at The Residence at Hilltop. A daughter of the late Simeon and Anna Popovich Yetsconich, she was born in Fayette City on Feb. 6, 1935. A lifelong resident of Fayette City, Anna graduated in 1952 from Bellmar High School, was a lifelong member of St. John the Divine Orthodox Church of Monessen, the Altar Society of the church, the Belle Vernon Bocce League and the Morning Risers Bowling League. She loved to cook and shared her baked goods with others and enjoyed collecting recipes and had an extensive collection of cookbooks. An avid Pittsburgh sports fan, Anna loved the Christmas holiday and delighted in decorating her home. Another joy of hers was watching Christmas movies on the Hallmark Channel throughout the year. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Ron Krepps of Rostraver Township and Lynn and Jeff Ludwick of Belle Vernon; one son and daughter-in-law, Mark E. and Pamela Comadena of Normal, Ill.; one sister, Olga Dankovcik of Monessen; one brother, Charles Yaczkanich of Fayette City; seven grandchildren, Jordan (Kelsi) Comadena, Ron (Christina) Krepps, Aaron (Lauren) Krepps, Chelsea (Joey) Evans, Jonathan Krepps, Jesse Ludwick and Sarah (Cameron) Blair; and 11 great-grandchildren, Kynli Comadena, Emma and Ava Krepps, Harlow and Karson Krepps, Peyton Evans, Cason, Caden, Camden and Canaan Blair and Ellie Hixenbaugh. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Comadena, on July 20, 2008; a sister, Mary Doran; and a brother, John Yaczkanich. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-5300, www.FergusonFuneralHomeandCrematory.com. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. John the Divine Orthodox Church, Monessen. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. At 7:30 p.m. Monday, a Panakhida service will be held in the funeral home.
