Joan M. Fontanelli, 89, of Charleroi, died Friday, Nov. 12, 2021, in Grandview Estates of Elizabeth. Born July 31, 1932, in North Charle roi, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mabel Carlock Mollis. A 1950 graduate of Charleroi High School, Joan worked for many years as the manager at the former Busy Beaver store in Monessen and then as a secretary for Guttman Oil Co. in Dunlevy. A member of First Presbyterian Church in Belle Vernon, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Deborah (Robert) Fox of Charleroi; a sister-in-law, Jeannie Mollis of Belle Vernon; two nieces, Lisa Mollis Nelson and husband Jon and Lori Mollis; and Joan’s loving cat, Lacey Ann. Preceding her in death was her husband, Gerald E. Fontanelli, who died in 1994; and a brother, James “Moe” Mollis. Interment and funeral services were held in Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora.
