Lawrence Victoria Jr., son of the late Lawrence A. Victoria and Ruth A. Victoria of Monessen and brother to Nazareth Victoria II of Coal Center and the late John N. Victoria, passed away suddenly at his home in Coal Center on Nov. 1, 2021. Born July 23, 1952, Lawrence was a 1970 graduate of Monessen High School, where he served as class president. After high school, Lawrence attended Thiel College for business administration. Lawrence used the knowledge he gained to go on to have a successful life in business. He started out his career as the founder of Vicom Construction, which led to a lifelong passion for real estate. Lawrence then took his experience to South Florida, where he was able to leverage his passion into his lifestyle. In the 1990s, Lawrence began building a portfolio of properties in Coal Center for a future development. In that time, he purchased the former California Boat Club, which he and his wife, Nancy, refurbished into a destination restaurant and club and marina. This year, he started working on bringing the development in Coal Center to fruition. For the past decade, Lawrence also invested in the cannabis industry in California and was part of a group trying to get licensed here in Pennsylvania. Lawrence loved nothing more than his family. He married his surviving wife, Nancy, in 1978. They have two children together, Monica of Boca Raton, Fla. and Lorenzo of Santa Cruz, Calif. Lawrence relished the time he got to spend with his grandchildren, Alivia Victoria of Boca Raton, Fla. and Dalton Weis of Camp LeJeune, N.C.; and his great-grandchildren, Harley and Jasper Weis. Also surviving are his mother, Ruth and his brother, Nazareth (Jill) and their children, Nazareth III and Nina; his late brother John’s wife, Lesley Victoria of Washington, Pa. and their children, Adam and Alex Victoria and Ashley Victoria from a previous marriage; mother-in-law Barbara (George) Curdie of Stockdale; brother-in-law, John (Tina) Leonard of Charleroi and their children, John Robert (Nicole) and Dustin (Megan); sister-in-law, Tammy (Eugene) Tarquinio of California and their children, Gino and Josephine; sister-in-law, Patsy (Michael Pado) Leonard of Charleroi; and many more family members and close friends whom he considered family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to RHOME FUNERAL HOME INC., 1209 Grand Blvd., Monessen, where friends will be welcomed from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5, 2021. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, 2021. Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery of Monessen. In lieu of flowers, the family would like for donations to be made to: Grow Mon Valley, P.O. Box 236, Coal Center, PA 15423.
