Barbara Jean Taylor – Monongahela, Victory Hill

Barbara Jean Taylor, 90, of Monongahela, Victory Hill, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2021, in The Residence at Hilltop, Monongahela. She was born April 5, 1931, in Monongahela, a daughter of the late Thomas “Tush” and Martha Haggerty Johnson. Barbara was a member of Journey By Grace Church in Belle Vernon and was very involved in the church. She retired from the First Baptist Home in Castle Shannon, where she had worked for many years as an aide. A doting grandmother, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved helping people and would visit many friends and family, always giving them something delicious to eat and was also an animal lover. She is survived by her husband, Jack R. Taylor, with whom she celebrated 69 years of marriage on March 19, 2021; two sons, Jack and his wife Kerri Taylor of Belle Vernon and David and his wife Laurie Taylor of Finleyville; three granddaughters, Tamara Feigelstein, Lisa and her husband Matthew Morris and Samantha and her husband Wesley Dzimiera; four great-grandchildren, Eli, Cylvia, Aidan and Adalynn; sister-in-law, Karen Johnson of Scottdale; and numerous nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-laws, with whom she was very close. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas “Bud” Johnson. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, 2021, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela, where a funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5, with the Rev. William Bailey officiating. Interment will follow in the Monongahela Cemetery.
