George P. Kowalchuck – Rostraver Township

George P. Kowalchuck, 66, of Rostraver Township, died Monday, Nov. 1, 2021. Born in McKeesport on June 28, 1955, he was the son of the late Paul and Anna DiSanto Kowalchuck. George was a graduate of West Newton High School and was a member of the Church of St. Anne in Rostraver. He was a welder/heavy equipment mechanic and worked for U.S. Steel, Clairton works and Allied Erecting & Dismantling and Waste Management Inc. He retired from Renewable Energy as gas plant manager. George was a very hard-working man who loved life! He enjoyed golfing, antique car shows and people in general. The true joy of his life was spending time with his granddaughter, Makoto. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sharon Burkholder Kowalchuck; son, Michael (Noriko) Kowalchuck of Oakmont; daughter, Rebecca (George) Stevens of Apollo; granddaughter, Makoto Kowalchuck; and sisters, Betty Ann (Rich) Hardway of Murrysville and Paula (Bill) Zachetti of Sutersville. FAMILY AND FRIENDS ARE ASKED TO MEET AT THE CHURCH OF ST. ANNE, 1870 Rostraver Road, Rostraver Township at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, for a funeral Mass with the Rev. David J. Nazimek presiding. Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to JAMES C.
