Rosemarie Hartley Richie, 76, of Monessen, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021, peacefully in her sleep after a long illness. Born May 9, 1945, in Marianna, she was the daughter of the late John and Rose Vargo Hartley. A resident of Monessen for the past 10 years, Mrs. Richie was Catholic by faith and was a retired secretary for the Department of Human Services in Michigan. She had a passion for gardening and her beloved dogs. She had a strong faith and we know she will be at peace in the kingdom of the Lord for all eternity. She is survived by her husband, Dennis Richie, to whom she had just celebrated 55 years of marriage last week; three children, Monique (Steve) Whyte of Battle Creek, Mich., Jonalyn Richie Forman of Sparks, Nev., and Jason (Denise) Richie of Kuna, Idaho; and two sisters, Dolores (Jerry) Glover of Brownsville and Linda Hartley Jurik of Belle Vernon. She will also be missed by her 10 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Rose Hartley.
