Alice Scheetz, age 84, of McKeesport, died on Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2021. She was born in McKeesport on Aug. 3, 1937, and is the daughter of the late John Michael and Mary Elizabeth Lichman Pasternak. She was an active member of St. Angela Church, involved in the Ladies of Charity and the bake sales. She was a chairperson of the many card parties that helped fund the McKeesport Symphony. She volunteered at McKeesport Hospital and was a member of its women’s auxiliary.  Prior to raising a family, she worked as a secretary at General Motors Fisher Body in West Mifflin. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Edward Scheetz; her daughters, Elaine Smyda of Acworth, Ga., and Deborah (Frank) Witzel of Germany; grandchildren, Mark and Daniel Smyda and Alexandra and Roman Witzel. She was preceded in death by her brothers, John and Albert Pasternak. Family and friends will gather at STRIFFLERS OF WHITE OAK CREMATION AND MORTUARY SERVICES, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131, Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177, from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, 2021. There will also be a gathering from 10 a.m. to noon on  Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021. Mass of Christian burial will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mary Mother of God Parish, St. Angela Merici Church, 1640 Fawcett Ave., White Oak. Burial will follow at Mt. Vernon Cemetery. The family and our team members appreciate that all visitors follow appropriate guidelines of social distancing and wearing of masks, if not fully vaccinated. We thank you for your cooperation and understanding. The family also wants everyone to know that they completely understand if anyone is not comfortable with visiting and paying their respects during this time.
