Catherine A. Tatar – Monongahela

Catherine A. Tatar, 63, of Monongahela, lost her fight with COVID-19 on Monday, Oct. 25, at Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital. Daughter to Elmer and Hilda Sampson, Cathy was born on Oct. 24, 1958. She is survived by her beloved husband of 17 years, Michael R. Tatar. A cancer survivor and multiple sclerosis warrior, she was an amazingly strong woman who always put others needs before her own. She loved her work as a LPN nurse, riding her Harley-Davidson with her husband and being with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she is survived by her loving children, Maegan Finn Keenan (Montana Keenan), Jennifer Tatar and Michael C. Tatar. Cathy was also a loving grammy to eight wonderful grandkids, Mariah Tatar, Jordan Clement, Jayce Tatar, Harper Tatar, Parker Keenan, Easton Tatar, Eliza Keenan and Griffin Keenan; sister to Kenny Sampson, (Sarah Sampson), of Marston Mills, Miss., and Judy Sampson Sosko, (Jeff Sosko) of Acme. She will be remembered for her contagious smile and her free spirit. Family and friends will be received at MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, from noon to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, with a service beginning at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Josh Green officiating.
