Edward William Gauden, 79, of Pensacola, Fla., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020. A son of the late Edward B. and Marion Palfrey Gauden, he was born in North Belle Vernon on March 15, 1940. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and after returning, moved to Pensacola, where he has since resided and opened his music business in the 1970s, retiring in 1998. Survivors include one sister, Shirley Gauden Melvin of Pensacola; niece and nephew, Deanna Melvin Quinley and children and Thomas Melvin and children, all of Pensacola; an aunt, Bonnie Palfrey of Stockdale; and several cousins, including Thomas and Doreen Augustine and family of Milton, Fla. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, John Melvin in 2012; and a nephew, John Edward Melvin in 2014. Due to the pandemic, his services have been delayed. Graveside services in Belle Vernon Cemetery will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2021.
