Philip ‘Buddy’ Gibino – New Stanton

Philip “Buddy” Gibino, 63, of New Stanton, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2021, at his home. He was born in North Charle- roi on Jan. 8, 1958, a son of the late Philip and Arminia Farrow Gibino. Philip is a retiree from Westmoreland County Prison and Ductmate Industries Inc. He graduated from Charleroi High School, Class of 1977. While growing up in Dunlevy, he became an avid soccer player. He played with the Dunlevy Redbirds for 27 years and was inducted into the Charleroi Soccer Hall of Fame in 2016. His love of sports carried on as he was actively involved with the Kozy Nook pool league, Charleroi Italian Club duckpin bowling league and was an avid golfer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 26 years, June Keller Gibino; and a sister, Phyllis Teegarden. Surviving to cherish his memory are a daughter, Hilary (James) Johnson of Carroll Township; a son, Derek (Alyssa Lapia) Gibino of Fallowfield Township; a stepdaughter, Heather Proctor (Lynn Mensch) of New Stanton; a grandson, Porter Mensch; brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and several friends. Arrangements have been entrusted to ANTHONY L. MASSAFRA FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE INC., 40 Second St. Ext., Carroll Township/Donora, PA 15033, 724-379-6900, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17, 2021. A service will be held in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 18, 2021. Interment will follow at Madison Unity Cemetery in Madison, Pa.
