Claude E. Evans, 85, of Victory Hill, Monongahela, died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021, in Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital. Born Jan. 17, 1936, in Webster, he was the son of the late George and Anita Kalscheuer Evans. After graduation from the former Rostraver High School in 1954, Claude worked for the next 40 years at U.S. Steel, Clairton works, retiring as a foreman in 1997. For the next three years, he continued working and traveling as a consultant for the Aristech Co. A member of the Donora Masonic Lodge No. 626, he was an avid hunter and fisherman who always enjoyed tinkering with things around the house, but enjoyed most of all traveling with his wife, Judy and spending time with their family at the campground in Bedford. Surviving are his wife, Judith A. Dzurisko Evans, whom he married May 12, 1957; four daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy (Doug) Seitz of Las Vegas, Nev.; Donna (Kent) Williams of Monongahela; Jackie (Jay) Repasky of Donora and Claudia (Tom) Bird of Belle Vernon; two brothers, Jim (Carol) Evans of West Newton and George (Mary Ann) Evans of Florida; a sister, Louise (Jim) Smith of Uniontown; three grandchildren, Danielle (Todd) Osleger, Megan (Graham) Mitchell and Michael (Liz) Williams; four great-grandchildren, Kendall and Kieran Mitchell and Sam and Emily Osleger; a sister-in-law, Lyda Evans of Belle Vernon; along with several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were two brothers, David (Peggy) Evans, twin Clyde Evans; and a sister, Elaine (Calvin) Johnson.
