Antoinette Sally Sposato – Belle Vernon (Fairhope)

Antoinette Sally Sposato, 75, of Belle Vernon (Fairhope), went to be with the Lord on Friday, Oct. 8, 2021, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh and has joined her husband of 55 years, John Joseph Sposato, in death. A daughter of the late James and Elena Padovani Gitas, she was born in North Charleroi on May 29, 1946. A lifelong resident of Fairhope, she was a loving and devoted housewife, mother and great-grandmother. She participated in many of her children’s club activities, such as Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, as a group leader. She had been a member of the St. Sebastian Choir, where she enjoyed singing with her many close friends. She worked in her parents’ bar and restaurant, the former Elena’s Bar in Clairton. She was also employed by the Perry Auto Auction and the Belle Vernon K-Mart. Sally enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and especially her pets. Survivors include a daughter and son in-law, Kimberly and Michael Hufford of Fairhope; a son and daughter in-law, John J. and Jill Sposato of Elizabeth; a sister, Laine Gitas of Bristol, Va.; a brother, George (Wendy) Gitas of Bethel Park; six grandchildren, Michael Hufford and John, Skylar, River, Ember and Willow Sposato; and three great-grandchildren, Alexandria, Silas and Stetson Hufford. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Ferguson Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-5300, www.FergusonFuneralHomeAndCrematory.com. A funeral service will begin at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with Pastor Robert Prinkey officiating.
