James ‘Magoo’ McGowan – Yukon, formerly of Monessen

James “Magoo” McGowan, 58, of Yukon, formerly of Monessen, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2021, at Washington Hospital. He was born on Nov. 28, 1962, in Charleroi, son of the late James and Betty Joyce Povich McGowan. Magoo was a member of the West Newton Sportsman’s Club and the German Club of West Newton, as well as various other social clubs. He was a “laid back” man who enjoyed the Yough River and the outdoors. He truly enjoyed time with his friends and was always good for a laugh. He had been employed at Wabtec. Surviving are his sons, Jimmy McGowan and Michelle, Brian and wife Dana McGowan; daughter, Maggie and husband Adam Kissell; grandchildren, Connor and Molly McGowan; sister, Jill and husband Chuck Bennett; niece, Madison Bennett; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to RHOME FUNERAL HOME INC., 1209 Grand Blvd., Monessen, where friends will be welcomed from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, 2021. Services will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 8, 2021. Interment will follow in the Grandview Cemetery, Monessen.
