Geraldine M. Harris – Shelby Township, Mich., formerly of Monessen,

Geraldine M. Harris, 87, of Shelby Township, Mich., formerly of Monessen, passed away on Feb. 19, 2021. She was born on June 29, 1933, the daughter of the late Stephen and Mary Kotch Meluck. Geraldine is survived by her daughter, Leslie (Victor); grandsons, Ian and Spencer; and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Walter. Geraldine was a lifelong resident of Monessen and a Monessen High School graduate, Class of 1951. She moved to Shelby Township in 2016 to be closer to family. She was a member of Epiphany of our Lord Roman Catholic Church in Monessen. Geraldine was an office manager for several dental offices over the years. She also was a volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul Society. Geraldine was always happy and smiling. She made everyone feel welcome. She enjoyed hosting family pool parties and was a marvelous cook and baker, with her specialties being her apple and key lime pies and Christmas cookies, which delighted many. Geraldine was an avid card player, enjoying years of fun and friendship in her card clubs. Her greatest love was spending time with her family and the joys of her life, her grandchildren, Ian and Spencer. Due to the pandemic, Geraldine was not buried until June 25, 2021, with family and friends attending from Monessen and Florida. She was laid to rest next to the love of her life, Walter, in Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Mich.
