Philomena ‘Phil’ Tillman – Charleroi

By obits

Philomena “Phil” Tillman, 87, of Charleroi, passed away peacefully on Sept. 19, 2021, with her family by her side. Born on April 16, 1934, in Charleroi, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Julia Bolen Krasovic. “Phil” was the life of the party, spread love everywhere she went and was involved in many different groups and organizations. She was a devoted member of St. Andrew the Apostle, involved in all dinners, festivals and activities. A member of the Christian Mothers, she was named “Mother of the Year of Christian Mothers” and given the honor of crowning the Blessed Mother. She volunteered at Unity, a Journey of Hope, taught craft classes at Charleroi Middle School, the Curves “Club,” card club for over 50 years and was proudly one of the last three surviving wives of the original Charleroi Fire Department. When Phil wasn’t involved in her numerous clubs and organizations, she enjoyed relaxing at Pine Cove Swim Club, (where she was a member for over 60 years) and being the life of the party, especially at the Pittsburgh St. Patrick’s Day Parade, handing out her homemade pepperoni rolls and jello shots, specifically to her church friends from the Ancient Order of Hibernians. Surviving to cherish Phil’s memory are her son, John (Mary Joan) Tillman; her four daughters, Paula Tillman-Kyle, Renee (Fred) Gould, Lisa Yagnich and Joy (Robert) DeFerrari; and her special daughters, Michele and Mary Pat Buraczewski; grandchildren, Jonathan Tillman, Eric (Sinem) Eissler, Raynelle (Rohn) Patterson, Katlyn Kyle, Brandon (Claudia Alff-Chute) Neupaver, Buenna Neupaver, Andrew (Mariah) Tillman, Theresa Shustock, Zack Yagnich and Petey, Shawna, Peyton and Bo DeFerrari; her 14 great-grandchildren; her sister, Shirley Clark; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Phil was preceded in death by the love of life for 58 years, John Tillman; her great-grandchild, Josiah; and her loving brother, Darwin Krasovic. Friends and family will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday Sept. 25, 2021, at Saint Andrew the Apostle Parish, 624 Washington Ave,. Charleroi, PA 15022, where a memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Gerald Mikonis officiating. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.schrock-hogan.com.
