Amid looming court action, Monessen RDA meeting abruptly ends

The current five members of the Monessen Redevelopment Authority will remain the same until a court of law decides otherwise, according to the authority’s solicitor. Despite a tumultuous series of recent moves by some members of Monessen City Council to oust two seated authority members, Solicitor Joseph R. Dalfonso said the current appointed members will remain seated. Dalfonso said recent moves by several city council members to remove authority members Lou Mavrakis and Buzzy Byron carry no weight.
