Anthony Argirakis – Monessen

Anthony Argirakis, 83, of Monessen, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 19, 2021. He was born in Monessen on July 29, 1938, son of the late Constantine “Gus” and Mary Loulis Argirakis. Anthony was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church of Monessen. He was also a life member of Monessen BPOE Elks No. 773. He served in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1962. He worked as a brakeman for Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation prior to his retirement. Anthony was an avid fan of Pittsburgh sports, the Steelers, Penguins, Panthers and Pirates. Surviving are his sons, Anthony and wife Dawn Argirakis of Rostraver Township, and Brett and wife Kelly Argirakis of Nazareth, Pa.; daughter, Laura and husband Mark Karpiak of Charleroi; grandchildren, Anthony J. Argirakis and wife Kelly, Carlie Argirakis, Alexis Argirakis, Brittney Argirakis and fiancé Vincent Marino, Abbie Argirakis and Kaleigh and Derek Karpiak; and two great-grandchildren, Rocco and Adia Argirakis;and his brother, Joh Argirakis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Suppa Argirakis; and two brothers, Victor and Mike Argirakis. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to RHOME FUNERAL HOME INC., 1209 Grand Blvd., Monessen, where friends will be welcomed from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. A Trisagion service will be held in the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church of Monessen with Father Meletios Gianniodis officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery of Monessen.
