Michael D. Black – Allenport
Michael D. Black, 64, of Allenport, passed away Sunday, Sept. 12, 2021, at Monongahela Valley Hospital. Born Sept. 28, 1956, in Bedford, he was the son of the late Gary Black and Iris Kay Hott Black, who survives and resides in Allenport. Mr. Black was a member of the House of Faith Church, West Newton, where he was actively involved with various ministries, including the texting outreach ministry, served as an elder in the church and was active in the Free in Deed ministry, which included providing food and clothing for the homeless, and the Backpacks for Kids project. Michael was retired from the Washington County Courthouse, where he worked as a painter, was a member of the Naomi Athletic Club, currently serving as treasurer, and most of all enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and going to sporting and dance events. He is survived by his wife, Marsha Kroskie Black, to whom he was married for 46 years; sons and daughter-in-law, Michael D. Black Jr. and wife Voni of North Belle Vernon, Charles “Charlie” F. Black of Belle Vernon and Nathan W. Black of Vandergrift; brother, Scott Black of Virginia; five grandchildren, Cameron M., Carter W., Jordon M., Brooklyn E. and Callie E. Black; father-in-law, Wudge Walter Kroskie; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 20, at Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations LLC, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183, followed by funeral services at 7:30 p.m. with Pastor Conrad Duncan and his wife, Pastor Lisa, officiating.
