Walter Pigeon – Monessen

Walter Pigeon, 88, of Monessen, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 12, 2021. He was born on July 9, 1933, in Bentleyville, son of the late Joseph and Helen Lanca Pigeon. He retired after 43 years at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel plants in Monessen and Allenport. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Margaret Laird Pigeon; three daughters, Elizabeth Timmons, Cheryl (Edwin) Swarmer and Cindy Danilchak; grandchildren, Erika (Shane) Rotolo, Jordan Swarmer, Brandon Danilchak and Jennifer (Tom) Pfeifer; great-grandchildren, Bryce and Brock Rotolo, Adina, Josephine and Jade Danilchak, Julian Hess, Colton Winslow and Kaleigh and Jaxon Pfeifer; four sisters, Fran Hohn, Irene Gunderman, Irene Basel and Lucille Weis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Ann Laird; his first wife, Matilda Zugaro Pigeon; brothers, Joseph Pigeon Jr. and Charles Pigeon; sister, Diane Luketich; and in-laws, Willard and Elizabeth Godfrey Sr. Friends will be received from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday at ROBERT A. BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC., Grand Boulevard and Marion Avenue, Monessen. The funeral service will begin at 2:30 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Conrad Auel officiating.
