Larry ‘Uncle Larry’ Kovalitski

By obits

Larry “Uncle Larry” Kovalitski, was born on Aug. 24, 1947, to Loretta Dolan and Tony Kovalitsky. He is survived by his brothers, Marvin “Archie” Dolan and his wife Donna, Ed Buck and Robert Buck; nieces, Michelle Rae Fino, Rosalind King, Michelle Buck Warnock and Amy Lynn Buck Tringali; nephews, Brandon King, John Miller, Roger Allen Buck, Bobby Buck, Michael Buck, Joey Buck; and cousins, Marcy and Hozz Yuhasz, Kathy Leone Warfield, Janet Leone Hoade and Patty Zimmaro. He always had a smile on his face and loved visiting his family. He loved good conversation, good food and just being around those that he loved. Uncle Larry passed away peacefully on Aug. 17, 2021, after having celebrated early his 74th birthday with his beloved friend, Mary Packer, a bouquet of balloons he adored, a vanilla birthday cupcake he waited to eat and cards from his family surrounding him. Larry served in the U.S. Air Force for four years in the computer operations department and then went on to have a career as the operation supervisor in the data center at Lock Haven University, where he was well respected and liked by everyone. He was an avid reader and had an extensive library of the literary greats and enjoyed sharing his vast knowledge on so many subjects. He was preceded in death by his mother, Loretta Dolan Kovalitsky; father, Tony Kovalitsky; step-mom, Lottie Kovalitski; and brother, Roger Buck. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Sept. 11, 2021, at RHOME FUNERAL HOME in Monessen. Uncle Larry will be laid to rest next to his and Papa Archie’s beloved mother, Loretta (Dolan) Kovalitsky, at Saint Hyacinth Cemetery in Monessen, Pa. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made on behalf of Uncle Larry to one of many charities he supported throughout his life — the Wounded Warrior Project.
