Joseph Edward Kish – Port Vue

Joseph Edward Kish, 95, of Port Vue, died on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021. He was born in Port Vue on Sept. 5, 1925, and is the son of the late Kathryn Cverna Kish and the hus-band of the late Helen Yaga Kish. They were married for 64 years before she passed away on Jan. 2, 2016. Joseph was a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in the South Pacific during World War II. He retired from Bethlehem Steel Co. as a draftsman, then formed his own company in Forest Hills. He was a lifetime member of St. Marks Parish (St. Joseph, Port Vue) and a member of American Legion Post 447 in Port Vue for more than 55 years. He is survived by children, Marcia (Greg) Lombardo of Port Vue, Joseph “Jo-Jo” Kish of Port Vue, James (Denise) Kish of Wheeling, W.Va., David (Sharon) Kish of Port Vue; grandchildren, Amber (Jacob) Bock, Ashlee Lombardo, Caitlyn (Michael) Mistick, James (Kelsey) Kish; great-grandchildren, Hailey and Hannah Bock, Alexa Lombardo, Emma and Sadie Mistick, Louie James and Molly Kish; and many beloved cousins. In addition to his mother and wife, Joseph was preceded in death by his brother, Howard Kish. Family and friends will gather from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2021, at Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131, Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, at Saints Joachim and Anne Parish, St. Eugene Church, 3210 Liberty Way, Liberty Boro, PA 15133. Burial will follow. The family and our team members appreciate that all visitors follow safety guidelines, including wearing masks and social distancing. We thank you for your cooperation and understanding. The family also wants everyone to know that they completely understand if anyone is not comfortable with visiting and paying respects during this pandemic. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be sent to the Good Samaritan Food Pantry c/o Port Vue United Methodist Church, 1565 Washington Blvd., Port Vue, PA 15133.
