Elizabeth ‘Liz’ Ray – Stockdale

Elizabeth “Liz” Ray, 72, of Stockdale, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at her home on Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2021. She was born in North Charleroi on Oct. 28, 1948, a daughter of Joseph and Gladys Haycock Kalish. Liz was Catholic by faith. She was retired from the former National City Bank in Speers, where she worked as a teller. Liz enjoyed attending all of her grandchildren’s sporting events and spending time with her family as well. She is survived by her son, David J. (Alisa) Ray of Carroll Township; her daughter, Melissa (J.J.) Georgagis of Roscoe; her companion, Gene Keene of Stockdale; five grandchildren, Ashton and Tessa Ray and Athena, Anastasia and Niko Georgagis; her brother, Joseph (Judy) Kalish of Williamsburg, Va.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Carl and Rosemary Dranzo of Roscoe; and brother-in-law, Gary Macik of Youngstown, Ohio. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William J. “Rawhide” Ray in 2010; and her sister, Nancy Macik. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 5, 2021, at MELENYZER FUNERAL HOMES & CREMATION SERVICES INC., 1008 Furlong Ave., Roscoe, where services will begin at 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
