Shirley Anne Patten – Washington Township

Shirley Anne Patten, 78, of Washington Township, went to live with our Lord on Saturday, Aug. 7, 2021. She was born Oct. 2, 1942, in Detroit, Mich., daughter of the late John and Frieda Hils Patten. She was a 1960 graduate of Cody High School in Detroit, Mich. Shirley lived, worked and started her family in her hometown of Detroit before moving to Southwestern Pennsylvania. Residing on the family farm for 29 years with her sister, Joan, Shirley was beloved by her very large family. She was a member of St. Sebastian Church in Belle Vernon and enjoyed participating in events at the Center in the Woods. Shirley loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and she enjoyed watching old movies and helping others. She is survived by her sister, Joan Cannizzaro; children, Diana Robbins, Nancy McDaniel, Susan Thomas, Sandra Montoya and Steven Patten; grandchildren, Josh, Seth and Leah Thomas, Jason and Jessica Montoya, Ryan, Rachel and Emma Patten, Gina Pell, John Archer and Taylor McDaniel; and great-grandchildren, Zane Miller, Mabel Thomas and Ellen Archer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Mark Pincek. Family and friends are asked to meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021, for a funeral Mass at St. Sebastian Church, 801 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, with the Rev. Michael J. Crookston presiding. Interment will follow in Little Redstone Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to JAMES C.
