Dolores M. Hazy, 83, of Summerville, S.C., formerly of Monessen, died Monday Aug. 23, 2021, in Summerville Medical Center. She was born on Feb. 10, 1938, in Monessen, the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Jankowski Matinsky. Dolores was a 1956 graduate of Monessen High School, a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Church and a member of the former Hungarian Club Ladies Auxiliary in Monessen. She was retired from the Westmoreland County Housing Authority, having worked as a housing manager. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Stephen A. Hazy Sr., in 2017; and by her brother, Michael Matinsky. Surviving are her son, Stephen A. Hazy Jr. of Summerville, S.C.; daughter, Janice Hazy of Charleston, S.C.; two brothers, Stanley (Eva) Matinsky of Monessen, Steve (Carol) Matinsky of Monessen; sister, Betty Ann Meikle of Greensburg; brother-in-law, James Hazy of Monessen; and nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATIONS SERVICES from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29, 2021. Services will be held Monday, beginning with a 9:30 a.m. blessing in the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church with the Rev. Michael J. Crookston officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Rostraver Township. Everyone attending the viewing and funeral is kindly asked to wear a mask.
