Pooch pool party a big splash at Mon Valley YMCA

By Stacy Wolford

On Wednesday, the Mon Valley YMCA, in partnership with Mon Valley Paws, hosted a “Doggie Paddle” at the Carroll Township facility. From the looks of it, humans and hounds alike enjoyed cooling off as the heat and humidity continues to soar in the Mon Valley this week. Ali Crownover of Monongahela swims with her German Shepherd, Lilli. See more photos from the Doggie Paddle on page A7 and in our online photo gallery at www.monvalleyindependent.com.

Melissa Vitali of Speers gets splashed by a bunch of dogs, including her own, Henry, while sitting by the kiddie pool.

Melody Gazdick wades in the kiddie pool with her dog Cash during the doggie paddle at the Mon Valley YMCA.

Lucas Boso, 8, of Monessen stands in the kiddie pool with his dog, Duke.

Scott Funk of Daisytown lets his dog Duke rest on him at the edge of the pool.
