Audrey L. Carter Sloan entered into the gates of heaven on Aug. 22, 2021, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 3, 1936, in Donora. She was a graduate of Donora High School, Class of 1955. Audrey was the daughter of the late George W. Carter and Carrie Watkins Carter. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Stu” Sloan Jr.; two daughters, Kerri (Lorie) Sloan and Armeda Joy Sloan Riley; four sisters, Thelma Carter Wright, Hattie Carter Edwards, Ann Maude Carter Taylor and Harriett Carter Merritt; and two brothers, Jesse Carter and George (Bo) Carter. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Sloan Crable (Michael) of Fort Worth, Texas; three sons, Charles A. Sloan of Donora, George Sloan (Toni) of Seneca, S.C., and Walter Jay Sloan (Paula) of Donora; 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and a very special sister-in-law, Charlie Mae White (Ted); and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Services will be held with visitation from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, 2021 and funeral services immediately following at New Vision Christian Tabernacle, 201 Thompson Ave., Donora, PA 15033, with the Rev.
