Peter Hoosac Jr., 80, of New Eagle, died Aug. 22, 2021, at Monongahela Valley Hospital. Born Sept. 8, 1940, in Monongahela, he was the son of Peter Sr. and Irene Gregg Hoosac. A 1958 graduate of Monongahela High School, Pete worked for over 38 years as a bus driver for Greyhound Bus Lines and was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Monongahela. In 1952, at the age of 12, he played in the Little League World Series, losing to Norwalk, Conn., in the championship game. He enjoyed playing pinochle, golfing and doing word scrambles. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth “Libby” Kearns Hoosac; two daughters, Kimberly J. (Tom) Mordecki of Carroll Township and Desiree (Ron) Hoosac of New Eagle; two sons, Peter (Seth) Hoosac of New Eagle and Matthew “Shane” (Jon) Hoosac of Monongahela; three brothers, Tim (Yola) Hoosac of the state of California, Larry (Nell) Hoosac of Monongahela and John Hoosac of Brownsville; three sisters, Anna Manning, Adaline (Rich) Biagini and Charlotte Hoosac, all  of New Eagle; four grandchildren, Starsha (Jason) Malek, Brittany Vlosich, Deanne (Matt) Trumpie and Nichalaus (Kristen) Anderson; and seven great-grandchildren, Alaunna Malek and Bryce Malek (Jazmine Haynesworth), Caleb and Gabriella Vlosich, Jordan and Cameron Anderson and Eliza Wirick. Preceding him in death were his brother, Leon Hoosac; a brother-in-law, Clarence Manning; and a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Hoosac. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, 724-258-6767, marshallmarrafuneralhome.com, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 27, 2021, with the Rev. Raymond DiCamillo officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery.
