Foster T. Evans Sr., 94, of Rostraver Township, died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021. Born in Webster on March 22, 1927, he was the son of the late George and Bertha Brooks Evans. Foster was a stationary engineer and was a retired boiler operator for a state hospital. He was a member of the Reorganized Latter-day Saints in Charleroi, where he also served as a minister. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II and was a lifetime member of VFW Post 7812 in West Newton. Foster really enjoyed carpentry work and spent many hours in his workshop and was always proud of his finishing skills. He is survived by his daughter, Linda J. (Ray A. Jr.) Beckinger of Rostraver; grandsons, Ray F. (Colene) Beckinger, Dave (Natalie) Beckinger, Daniel (Donna) Evans and Thomas (Sandra) Evans; and great-grandchildren, Madelynn (Josh) Eason, Kyle, Ethan, Braeden and McKenna. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine June (Trexel) Evans; and son, Foster T. Evans Jr.; brothers, George, Wilford, Robert, Howard, Russell and Clyde Evans; and sisters, Pearl Chadwick, Mildred Van Kirk, Betty Yaroscak and Ruth Estel. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township, 724-929-7934, www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday with Elder Thomas Hamer officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park.
