Joanne Prusko – Glassport

Joanne Prusko, 78, of Glassport, died Sunday, Aug. 8, 2021. She is the daughter of the late Joseph and Anne Michaelson Prusko. She is survived by her nephew, Pete (Lisa) Prusko; and niece, Andrea Prusko. She was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Prusko. Joanne grew up in Glassport and lived there for most of her life. She graduated from Case Western with a Master’s in Public Health and Nutrition and spent her career serving in the interest of public health, working for the Indian Health Service on the Pine Ridge Indian reservation in South Dakota and later for the state of Pennsylvania. Joanne really enjoyed traveling, going as far away as Australia and New Zealand. She was an avid bowler, bowling with a group at Lokay Lanes. She equally enjoyed duckpin bowling at Glassport Lanes. She lived in the moment and always had a positive attitude and a smile. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, at WOJCIECHOWSKI FUNERAL HOME, Glassport. A funeral mass will be held at noon Friday, Aug. 13, at Queen of the Rosary Church. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Port Vue.
