Irene E. Andrachek – Monessen

Irene E. Andrachek, 91, of Monessen, died Sunday at home in Monessen. She was born on July 24, 1930, in McKeesport, the daughter of the late George Girman and Anna Sovak Girman. She was a member of St. Mary Ladies Guild and Rosary Society, Mon Valley Slovak Cultural Society, Monessen Historical Society and Heritage Museum. She was a 1948 graduate of Duquesne High School. She worked at Keystone Bakery in Monessen, U.S. Steel at the Homestead works, where she worked as a clerk and at Kopriver’s Florist in Duquesne. Most importantly, she was a kind and compassionate woman, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Mary Girman. Surviving are her loving husband of 66 years, Elmer Andrachek, two sons, James (Debbie) Andrachek of Export, Richard (Cindy) Andrachek of Vacaville, Calif.; daughter, Donna (James) Baker of Edgewater, Md.; grandchildren, Michael and Victoria Andrachek, Luke Baker, Luke, Matthew, Elizabeth, Rebekah, Rachael, and Mark. There will be a Rosary service at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, and friends will be received from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday at DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC. AND CREMATION SERVICES, 441 Reed Ave., Monessen, Pa. Services will be held on Friday beginning with a Panachida at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, Monessen, with Father Stephen Wahal officiating. Interment will follow at the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Rostraver, Pa. Condolences are accepted for the family at www.dalfonso-billick.com.
