Robert “Bob” Havrin, 65, of Lake Bluff, Ill., died suddenly on Friday, July 30, 2021. Born on Dec. 29, 1955, in Belle Vernon. Robert was the son of the late John and Sarah Uhrin. Bob enjoyed travel, chess and a good home brew. He knew how to grow the perfect tomato and always welcomed good conversations with family and friends. His Christian beliefs were fundamental to him as well as his conservative American views. Bob achieved dual bachelor’s degrees in chemical engineering and pre-med from Penn State University. He went on to receive a master’s in mechanical engineering from Columbia University, N.Y. Bob is survived by his wife of 32 years, Patricia; and their children, Lauren and David Havrin and stepdaughter, Danielle Bergeron and husband Russel; brothers Mick and wife Janie, and Dave with wife Missy; grandchildren, Ella and Abby, multiple nieces and nephews; and his beloved cat, Ratha. Bob will be truly missed. Visitation will take place at RHOME FUNERAL HOME INC., 1209 Grand Blvd., Monessen, from noon until 1:45 p.m. Saturday Aug 14, 2021, with 1:45 p.m. the time of service with the Rev Conrad Auel officiating. The funeral will then proceed to Rehoboth Cemetery in Rostraver Township for a committal service. A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17, 2021, at Christ Church in Lake Forest, Ill. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the First Christian Church in Monessen or the Liberty Justice Center in Chicago, Ill.
