Ronald William Danko – Monessen

Ronald William Danko, 59, of Monessen, went to be with the Lord suddenly Monday, Aug. 2, 2021. A son of Ronald E. and Joyce Sutherland Danko of Monessen, he was born in North Charleroi Sept. 2, 1961. A member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church of Monessen, he graduated from California University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in business and was a pitcher for the school’s Vulcans baseball team. He was an avid fisherman and loved the Wheeling Downs dog races. A lifelong resident of Monessen, Ron worked in sales throughout his career, played Little League baseball and was a Little League baseball umpire. In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, R.J. and Stacey Danko of Elizabeth and Eric and Emily Danko of Coraopolis; a grandchild, who was the apple of his eye, Trace Michael Danko; one brother, Darren Danko; and Rozalyn Russell, lifelong companion of Monaca; and two nephews, Alex Danko of Monessen and Brandon Danko of Erie. Ronald was preceded in death by twin brothers, Ken Danko in 1999 and Kirk Danko in 2013. Friends will be received in the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 8, 2021. A blessing will be held in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 9, followed by a funeral Mass at Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church in Monessen at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Michael Crookston as celebrant. Interment will be in Holy Name Cemetery in Monessen.
